Marathon Tropical Fruit Festival

There was every kind of fruit and nut imaginable this morning on
display at the Garden Club, and lots of trees for sale outside. I had
no idea that there were so many varieties of mangos. We had hoped to
bring over some of our Celeste Figs to enter into the competition but
we missed the 9:30 deadline for entries. Wouldn't you know, there were
no figs on display either.

what beautiful fruit! I love all the colors. It looks quite a bit different from the grand Rapids Farmers market this AM.

I'm disappointed about the fig competition I'm sure you guys are too. Is there another event you can join in a nearby city??

It couldn't be strawberries in that picture is it? What kind of fruit is that bright red strawberry shape?

That's lychee. We tried some. The outer shell is hard, the inside is real sweet, and it has a small pit in the middle.

Oops, that's not the lychees, those are cashews. The nut is attached to the bottom of the red part.
